Child benefits

Every family raising a child from birth to the age of 18 can apply for child benefit in Norway, if one of the parents works in Norway and pays social taxes. Currently, you can apply for the last 3 years (from 2021).

If you are interested in this service, you would need the following documents:

• Personal identity card or passport;
• Children’s birth certificate;
• Copy of marriage certificate (if you are married;
• Employment contract in Norway;
• Salaries (you need as many as possible).

We submit an application for child benefit to the Norwegian NAV institution, it is processed in about 8 months, depending on the speed of the institution’s work.
